Location: Hurlburt Field, Florida
Completed On: November 2005
This 4 phase project consisted of the design and construction of a 34,000 square foot modern outpatient clinic addition and alteration of 17,040 square foot of existing spaces within the Hurlburt Medical/Dental Clinic. Due to the unsuitable soils located beneath the facility, auger cast piles and pile caps were required for the foundation to support the new clinic. The structure consisted of a structural steel frame with a masonry veneer. The roof was constructed utilizing steel deck capped with a standing seam metal roof. The project also included underground utilities, electrical, mechanical, communications, drop-off canopy, parking lot, landscaping and extensive finish work. Careful coordination was required with the customer in order to avoid disruption of service to the existing clinic. Upon completion of the new clinic, occupants of the existing clinic vacated their space and moved into the new clinic. Thereafter three more phases of work were performed to update the existing clinic which included new interior finishes, upgrading electrical and fire alarm systems and replacing the HVAC system.
