Construction of a 38,000 square foot Army Reserve Center at Corry Station Pensacola, Florida to service the needs of the US Army Reserve for the Greater Pensacola, Florida area. The project consisted of a two story office building and a separate single story unheated storage building on the approximate six acre site. The two story building was constructed with a CIP concrete foundation system consisting of continuous strip footings for exterior CMU walls and isolated footings for structural steel columns. The building frame is structural steel with CMU infill for the exterior walls. The roof structure is 20 gauge corrugated metal deck on sloped bar joists. The exterior finish envelope consists of modular brick veneer with precast concrete water table and window sills. The roof is a standing seam system with elastomaric sheet waterproofing over 5” rigid insulation and has continuous 6” box gutters and pre-finished soffit panels. The building contains a large assembly hall and conference room that can be divided in two parts by means of an operable partition. Other features of the building included a concrete weapons storage vault, a caged storage area, VIP offices and administrative areas.
