The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Mobile Distinct has awarded Speegle Construction the contract for concurrent construction of the OSIC and ACES facilities in the amount of $14,100,505.
The Ordinance Science Innovation Center (OSIC) is a 13,341SF, 1-story administrative facility, and the Applied Computation Engineering & Science Facility (ACES) will be a 1-story, 10,952SF collaborative design center. Both will be constructed with a concrete foundation, steel frame structural system, CMU/metal stud w/brick and stucco veneer walls, sloped metal roof with clerestory, and interior utilities (electrical, fire suppression, fire alarm, mass notification, communications, IDS/ACS, and plumbing and HVAC) to house collaborative area with break room, conference room, offices, labs, and support areas. ACES Facility will include computational resources room w/raised floor (and independent HVAC system) and exterior raised loading dock w/connecting driveway. Site work, including demolition, grading, pavements, storm drainage, and all utilities necessary for complete and usable facilities is included.
These facilities will be constructed to LEED© Silver certification standards.
