Construction of a 39,500 SF multi-story Special Operation Forces Combined Squad Operation sprinkler-equipped facility with a structural steel-framed structure resting on concrete foundations.  The building is clad with masonry block exterior walls and a standing seam metal roof. The Combined Squad Operation Facility includes industrial workspaces, a combat training area, cast concrete armory with vault door and concrete roof, equipment storage areas, locker rooms, offices, conference spaces, command rooms, and classrooms, including secure classroom space. The project includes intrusion detection systems (IDS) and connection to the base-wide energy monitoring / (EMCS) / building information systems. Supporting facilities included all utilities services, site lighting, fire protection and alarm systems and UL certified lightning protection. SCIF elements include an access control system which utilizes X09/cipher locks and card readers, STC rated door and wall assemblies and an IDS system. Also included is a multi-million dollar furniture, fixtures and equipment package consisting of industrial grade storage, armory and maintenance items on the first floor and office furniture and demountable partitions primarily on the second floor. Site construction included both demolition of existing parking areas and greenfield development, construction of multiple parking areas both adjacent to and across the street from the facility, retention ponds, construction of an access road around the new building, landscaping, and road milling and re-paving.
