Speegle Construction has been awarded the contract to perform construction modifications and renovations of the commercial kitchen and modification and renovation of existing classroom space to create an isolation ward training area, both located within the Noble Training Facility on the campus of the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Alabama. The contract is awarded through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Mobile District in the amount of $4,404,300. The existing kitchen of 3,093sf will be expanded by an additional 2,200sf – increasing serving capability from 500 people three meals per day up to 1,000 people three meals per day. The Isolation Ward area is approximately 9,337sf; it will be modified to provide three sets of isolation rooms, four isolation skills training rooms, one 60 and one 40 student classroom, restrooms, waiting area, offices, a control room, and storage/supply area. This area is modeled after a standard hospital isolation ward.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 365 days.
